Tanjong Malim, Perak, 4 January 2026 – Universiti Pendidikan Sultan Idris (UPSI) has sent a total of 10 personnel from its Security Division to attend the Auxiliary Police Basic Course at the Police Training Centre (PULAPOL) in Air Hitam, Negeri Sembilan.
All trainees reported for duty on 4 January 2026 and will undergo an intensive 63-day training programme, scheduled to conclude on 7 March 2026. This participation represents a strategic initiative by the university to strengthen campus security while enhancing the professionalism of UPSI security personnel in line with current operational needs.
The Auxiliary Police Basic Course encompasses comprehensive physical and mental training, including modules on policing laws, drill and discipline, security management, crowd control, and enforcement training. The programme aims to produce Auxiliary Police officers who are highly disciplined, possess strong integrity, and are competent in carrying out their duties effectively.
According to an officer from the UPSI Security Division, Insp/AP Shaarin Jamaluddin, participation in the course is crucial in enhancing the readiness and field skills of security personnel.
“The participation of 10 UPSI Security Division personnel in this Auxiliary Police Basic Course is expected to strengthen their knowledge, discipline, and enforcement skills, thereby contributing to a more secure campus environment,” he said.
Meanwhile, the Head of the UPSI Security Division, ASP/AP Mohd Fairuz Mislan, also expressed his hope that all trainees would fully benefit from the training opportunity provided.
“The university hopes that all trainees will undergo this course with full commitment and dedication. The knowledge and experience gained are expected to be effectively applied in ensuring the safety and well-being of the UPSI community,” he said.
