UPSI Auxiliary Police Apprehend Suspect in Musical Instrument Theft Case at Dewan Tuanku Canselor

The Universiti Pendidikan Sultan Idris (UPSI) Auxiliary Police successfully apprehended a suspect involved in a musical instrument theft case at Dewan Tuanku Canselor (DTC), UPSI. The incident occurred in November following the conclusion of the 27th UPSI Convocation Ceremony in 2025.

Following the reported incident, surveillance and tracking operations were conducted. The suspect was detected entering the UPSI campus through the Malim Gate based on observations made by a Security Assistant on duty at the entrance on 22 December 2025.

Information regarding the suspect’s movements was immediately relayed to the supervising officer on duty for further action. Subsequently, with the cooperation of the UPSI CCTV Unit, the UPSI Auxiliary Police carried out a coordinated search and arrest operation.

The suspect was successfully detained at the UPSI Academic Complex without any incident. The individual was then brought to the UPSI Auxiliary Police Office at the Sultan Azlan Shah Campus for documentation and preliminary action.

Thereafter, the Royal Malaysia Police (PDRM) from the Muallim District Police Headquarters (IPD Muallim) conducted a re-arrest before escorting the suspect to IPD Muallim for further investigation and action in accordance with the relevant legal provisions.

The success of this operation reflects the high level of efficiency, readiness, and close cooperation between the UPSI Auxiliary Police and security assets such as the closed-circuit television (CCTV) system in ensuring the safety and protection of university property.
