Tanjong Malim, 12 November 2025 – The Security Division of Universiti Pendidikan Sultan Idris (UPSI) marked a significant milestone by featuring, for the first time, two female security personnel—Puteri Nor Saadah Md Sarif and Noor Fatihah Abd Razak—in the motorcycle escort team during the recently concluded 27th UPSI Convocation Ceremony.
The two officers were entrusted with responsibilities as part of the motorcycle convoy escort team, which accompanied official movements throughout the convocation proceedings.
Their participation represents a progressive step forward in strengthening the role of women within the Security Division.
According to the Head of the Security Division, ASP/AP Fairuz Mislan, the involvement of female officers in the escort team reflects a positive development that highlights their courage and capability in the field of security.
“We consistently provide space and opportunities for female personnel to demonstrate their abilities. This initiative proves that motorcycle escort duties are no longer limited to male officers alone,” he said.
Meanwhile, the Head of the Operations Unit, Insp/AP Shaarin Jamaluddin, also expressed pride in the commitment and discipline demonstrated by both officers throughout the training and execution of their duties.
“They displayed a high level of discipline and exceptional teamwork. This serves as an example to other personnel that gender is not a barrier to carrying out demanding tasks with excellence,” he added.
The UPSI Security Division escort team plays a vital role in ensuring smooth traffic flow and the safety of the movements of distinguished guests throughout the convocation ceremony.
The presence of the two female security officers in the team also drew the attention of the campus community and served as an inspiration to other personnel.
